Tax Residency Certificate (TRC)

A Tax Residency Certificate (TRC) is issued by Qatar’s General Tax Authority to confirm an individual’s or company’s tax residency in Qatar. It is commonly required when a taxpayer needs to establish Qatar tax residency for purposes such as applying the provisions of an applicable Double Taxation Agreement (DTA). HLB AG assists clients in assessing the relevant requirements and preparing their applications and supporting documentation.

Our Tax Residency Certificate services include:
  • Assessment of eligibility for a Qatar TRC
  • Review of residency and supporting documentation requirements
  • Assistance with TRC application preparation
  • Review of company registration and effective management requirements
  • Support with individual residency documentation, where applicable
  • Preparation and submission support through the Dhareeba portal
  • Assistance with GTA queries and requests for additional information

For companies, the GTA requires the head office and place of effective management to be situated in Qatar. Individual applications require supporting evidence of Qatar residency, including the applicable travel history and proof of permanent residence. HLB AG helps clients address the applicable requirements and supporting documents so that the TRC application is complete and properly presented to the GTA.
